Scams, cons and fraud come in many forms and are ever changing. The old saying, “if it is too good to be true, it probably is” pertains to most scams.
Caution should be taken whenever you are presented with any investment or a business opportunity or any request for money. The following is information compiled from a variety of state, federal and private agencies regarding scams and fraud.
Since these types of crimes change with the times, you must first look at the person or entity presenting the “opportunity or request”. Quite often the presenter is a known criminal or there may be indicators of fraud or deception, that would lead you to believe that this may in fact be a scam.
